Mother, young entrepreneur - and still not overwhelmed? Here's how.
"Young entrepreneur with a child? Much too exhausting!" - I would have thought the same thing. I was tired all the time, felt responsible for everything, and if someone had asked me if I wanted to start my own business, I would have laughed out loud - or secretly cried.
But today I am an entrepreneur, running my own business and spending more time with my family than ever before. How is that possible? Not because I worked harder, but because we as a family turned our entire organization upside down.
In this blog post, I'll show you why traditional role models and the invisible emotional baggage hold many women back-and how you can still build your own business.

The biggest hurdle? Old role models and mental load
Women who want to start their own business are often faced with more than one question: How do I get customers? - but also
Who will look after the child when I'm working?
How will I balance home, family and business?
Will I end up with a double burden?
The truth is that many women still take on the lion's share of family organization - even when both partners work. The so-called "mental load" is an invisible but omnipresent additional burden that we are often not even aware of.
And this was the biggest hurdle for me: I thought I had to do it all myself.

How we found a solution as a family
After countless conversations, heated debates, and a few moments of frustration, my partner and I have found a solution that works for both of us.
The key? We didn't just become life partners, we became co-CEOs of our family life.
This means
We see ALL the work as equally important - business, caregiving, home.
We have firm agreements about who needs more time for business or family, and when.
We consciously take quality time and individual breaks so that none of us burns out.
These changes have allowed me to become self-employed without being constantly stressed.
And you can do the same!

5 steps to starting your own business as a mom
If you're thinking about starting your own business, but you're afraid it'll be all on you, these five steps will help:
Identify Your Mental Load
What tasks and responsibilities do you automatically take on? Write them down - you'll be surprised how many there are.
Talk to your partner about expectations and beliefs
Open communication is key: who has what responsibility - and is it really fair?
Develop a flexible, equal division of labor together
You are a team! Think about it: Who works when? Who takes care of the children? Who does what around the house?
Consciously plan quality time and individual recovery time
Self-employment isn't just about business - it's also about self-care. Set aside time for your family and for yourself.
Set clear rules for your business and your family
Define and clearly communicate your working hours - so you can focus without a guilty conscience.
Conclusion: Your path to independence starts with clarity
Young entrepreneur with a child? Yes, it is possible! But not by sacrificing yourself, but by creating clear structures - for yourself, your family and your business.
